Her name was Alice Macon and her husband name was John Macon. What we know so far is that John Macon was sold in slavery and was a cook on a boat, Alice Macon never saw her husband again. They had children, Annie Lou Macon, Banks Macon, Tennessee Macon. Also Alice had a sister named Augusta. Somehow I just started to search for the last names on the web and I ran into this this, maybe my ancestors were slaves to some of these Macon’s or maybe family. Hopefully someone here can help me or connect me in the right direction. Thank you.. She was born in 1757, in Bute Co., No. Carol. She died on Dec 13, 1796, in childbirth having her son, Henry Harrison Macon, her 8th child." However, in the section on Henry Harrison you state his mother was Elizabeth..."Henry Harrison. Born on Dec. 13, 1796. Married Margaret Brooks in 1825 in Tenn. She was born in 1806. (His mother, Elizabeth, died the day of Henry’s birth, in childbirth)." FindAGrave has a memorial for Joanna Tabb Macon (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/178125791/johanna-macon} with a copy of a newspaper obituary from the "The North Carolina Journal, Halifax, North Carolina, Monday, 24 Aug 1795, Page 3" stating she died August 9 1795 while giving birth to her son Gabriel. So my question is: Who is Henry's mother? Joanna or Elizabeth or ????Bunnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14563982693322292294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2069846428848596774.post-18410035257649151252015-12-06T19:17:36.545-08:002015-12-06T19:17:36.545-08:00This Macon lines are also in Arkansas and Texarkan...This Macon lines are also in Arkansas and Texarkana, Tx.
